Youth Support Worker Volunteer

Provide 1-to-1 support, mentoring, and crisis intervention to young people, helping them develop life skills, build confidence, and access the resources they need to thrive.

What skills do I need?

  • One-to-one support & mentoring – guiding young people and building trust
  • Active listening & communication – understanding needs and responding effectively
  • Crisis management – staying calm and providing support in challenging situations
  • Empathy and emotional intelligence – understanding and supporting diverse experiences
  • Problem-solving & decision-making – helping young people navigate challenges
  • Knowledge of safeguarding – keeping young people safe and following policies
  • Patience and resilience – working effectively with young people in varied circumstances
