Volunteer Sewing Teacher

Ealing and Hounslow Community and Voluntary Service (EHCVS) is a registered local charity supporting voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups in Ealing and Hounslow for over 40 years. We offer a wide range of practical support services to VCS groups, both large and small. Project title: Acton Community Connect Acton Community Connect is an initiative run by EHCVS and funded by Ealing Council that aims to contribute to the diverse Acton community. Through our research and connections with the Acton community we have identified three needs that the Acton Community Connect initiative will address:

• Reduce social isolation
• Improve health
• Wellbeing Strengthen the community

Acton Connect is seeking a volunteer sewing teacher to assist with our weekly sewing club on Thursdays 1PM - 2:30PM.

If you have any experience teaching sewing, or are an avid sewer willing teach other how to sew, this role may be for you!

 

What skills do I need?

Requirements : 

• Experience in sewing machines.
• Experienced in sewing by hand.
• English speaker.
• Will need to do DBS

Preferred :

• Teaching experience.
• Can speak another language that is commonly spoken in Acton - Hindi, Urdu, Farsi, Arabic.
