Infant Feeding Peer Supporter Volunteer

• Are you a mother?
• Do you have at least 3 months breastfeeding experience?
• Could you offer infant feeding support to families in Hounslow?
• Do you have 2 hours per week available to volunteer?
• Would you like to train with us for free, learn new skills and gain a level 2 OCN qualification?

NCT is commissioned by London Borough of Hounslow to train and coordinate mothers who have breastfed  for at least 3 months to offer skilled, volunteer parent to parent breastfeeding support across the Hounslow area. Initially we will provide peer support at peer led support groups - Supporting parents in one of our local groups (Free drop-in support for all pregnant and breastfeeding families) based in Hounslow. Offering a listening ear. giving information on a range of topics, and facilitating social support.

The course will be held online and consists of 20 hours of training. There will also be homework time (usually 1 hour per week). On satisfactory completion of your workbook, you will receive an OCN accredited qualification in peer supporting. 

As a peer supporter you have the chance to make a real difference to local families.
