Carers Champion

Ealing and Hounslow Community and Voluntary Service

Ealing Carers Partnership offers support services to unpaid carers aged 18+, caring for adults in the London Borough of Ealing. We work with partners to bring carers together and provide breaks from caring across the borough through: Respite (replacement) care in the home Carer Cafes and social opportunities Wellbeing activities

Main purpose of the role

The Carers Community Champions role is to support us in promoting the Ealing Carers Partnership services that we provide, by raising awareness of what we offer, assisting with events, and improving engagement with carers in the community. To develop strong links with the local community to understand the needs of those who are caring for others

General responsibilities

The main thing you will be doing is promoting the Ealing Carers Partnership services/events.

  • Handing out leaflets/flyers
  • Help with setting up of events
  • Help to pack up after the events
  • Facilitating the Carers Cafés
  • Supporting the Ealing Carers Partnership Team, with increasing the visablity of the service


What skills do I need?

Skills, experience required:

·       Positive attitude towards vulnerable clients who may have a variety of complex needs and those who are caring for them

·       Desire to gain local knowledge about services or a willingness to find out what is available to support local Carers

·       Available 2-4 hours per week (to be agreed by the team)

·       Be confident in communicating both verbal and written information

·       Experience of talking to groups is desirable

·       Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding is desirable full training will be given

·       Comfortable using Microsoft Office and emails

·       Will need to attend health and safety training
